There are many types of diseases or problems in the spine, and it can even lead to TB or tuberculosis. If spinal tuberculosis is not treated in time, the patient is at risk of becoming paralyzed. Tuberculosis of the spine is a special type of tuberculosis, also called Potts disease.

So what kind of pain is there a risk of complicated problems like TB or tumor? There are some red signs, which need to be alerted. such as

● Back pain radiating down the legs.

● Urinary incontinence.

● Fever, weight loss, leg paralysis.

● Increasing intensity of pain day by day etc.

If there is a red signal, the lumbar disc prolapse, tuberculosis or tumor needs to be tested. Spinal MRI is essential for accurate diagnosis. The disease is easily diagnosed. Sometimes a biopsy is needed.

● In case of TB, in this case it should be noted whether the elasticity of the spine is normal or not. If resilience is good, TB drugs and rest are sufficient. But if the vertebra is too damaged, it needs to be repaired. Treatment of TB in general or other organs is the same here. However, in case of pulmonary TB, treatment is usually given for six months. But spinal TB can take 15 to 24 months or more.

● TB medicine should be taken properly for full duration in correct dosage as advised by the doctor. If irregular or omitted, there is a risk of making the situation complicated.

Another adjunctive treatment for spinal TB is fixation. Medicines can also be taken, if surgery is needed, spinal TB treatment is long-term, so patient treatment is required.
